In the morning we can provide breakfast for you before you set out for a day of activities or simply relax at the camp or explore the township. Ask us for a map of local points of interest or the key to the Middlemarch covered swimming pool (in season).

Things to do include a walk to the Department of Conservation's scenic reserve, Sutton Salt Lake, and a tour of the nearby Oceania Gold open-cast mine at Macraes. For the energetic there are three access points for walks up the Rock & Pillar Range.

Facilities at the camp include a children's playground, free gas barbecue, unique, restored and fully equipped rail carriage kitchen shown above, sun deck dining and free laundry facilities. The common room has TV, radio and 6-track stereo CD player. Pet dogs welcome (current vaccination certificate required). Waste dump available for guest use.
